IN B&B WINDERMERE CUMBRIA
The day The Samling changed from
a house-to-hire to a hotel proper
was an exciting one for long weekenders.
This was last August, although
the gabled house still retains
a country-house atmosphere, with
no reception, hotel bar
or lobby. There's a drinks
cabinet from which you help
yourself, and newspapers are scattered
around the sitting room. The pace
is easy-going: breakfast in bed,
sandwiches and tea
when you want them, but no lunch. |
