LUTON HOO HOTEL, GOLF & SPA - Luton - Bedfordshire - East Anglia - United Kingdom
Luton Hoo opened as a luxury five-star hotel with 18 hole golf course, magnificent spa and more than 1,000 acres of parkland and gardens created by the famous landscape designer Capability Brown.
The opening follows several years of painstaking restoration by Elite Hotels following its acquisition of this historic Grade 1 listed property and parkland of national importance.
The combination of tranquillity and accessibility looks set to make Luton Hoo a popular destination for leisure breaks and business functions of every kind.
The Mansion House – The mansion house incorporates five State Suites and four Principle Suites as well as Master Bedrooms, Mansion Suites, Junior Suites and Deluxe Bedrooms – each authentically styled in keeping with the original decoration found in the house and each with breathtaking views over the surrounding English parkland. The hotel also has a choice of interconnecting rooms to provide stunning suites with 2 or 3 bedrooms.
The Parkland Wing – A short walk from the Mansion House, the Parkland Wing houses 38 air-conditioned bedrooms and suites. The Adams Wing – The Grade II listed Robert Adams stable building provides the setting for the golf club house, spa and other leisure facilities.
The Flower Garden Wing – The Flower Garden Wing is named after the historic garden that was laid out here and adjacent to the Spa.Warren Weir (Opening Winter 2008) – Once open, this self contained private function and conference complex will house 81 bedrooms.
From grand and gracious dining to a more informal and intimate experience, Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa offers superb cuisine in the manner of a bygone age.
For exquisite fine dining there can be few more spectacular settings than the Wernher Restaurant, named after one of Luton Hoo’s most distinguished former owners.
Housed within the historic Stables building, designed by the distinguished 18th century architect Robert Adams, is Adam’s Brasserie, offering a slightly more informal style of dining compared to The Wernher Restaurant.
Modern day guests walk in the footsteps of some illustrious former visitors to the house, such as Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth II, Winston Churchill and Lord Mountbatten to name but a few. They would recognise some of the attractions as they were in bygone days – for example the fully restored Victorian grass tennis court with its pavilion that revolves to follow the day’s sun – or the opportunities for game and clay pigeon shooting, or fishing and boating on the serpentine lake.
Such pastimes have been joined by more contemporary amenities including the Spa at Luton Hoo, beautifully converted from the original Bothy building and extended with a swimming pool, housed under an oak-beam roof with views over the Flower Garden Wood. And of course the par 73, 7,107 yard golf course with breathtaking vistas of the house and its rolling estate.
