Stobo Castle has a long history spanning over one thousand years. The building of the present castle began in 1805 and was completed in 1811 under the supervision of well-known architects Archibald and James Elliot.
With the passage of time, Stobo Castle has undergone many improvements including a multi-million pound programme of modernisation. Today it stands proud, a superb example of Scottish baronial architecture and an oasis of hospitality for all our guests in its role as a centre of well being.
Stobo Castle is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in Scotland - there are majestic hills, tumbling burns, towering pine forests and a quality of air so pure you can almost taste it.

With magnificent Japanese Water Gardens nearby, where cascading water, lush plant life and classic oriental landscaping combine to create an overwhelming sense of peace in which to pause and meditate.

The magnificent Spa with its under floor heating and stunning glass roof is the heart of the Stobo experience, there are over 70 face and body treatments to choose from to revitalise,relax,de-stress and detoxify.
