POWERSCOURT SPRINGS HEALTH FARM - Enniskerry - Leinster - Mid East - Ireland

   

Powerscourt Springs Health Farm was the inspiration of two ladies, Fiona Hanby and Patricia Kinsella, who in the early 90’s saw an opportunity to introduce the concept of a pampering health farm to Ireland. Having visited many such health farms in England, they had a strong instinct for the health farm/spa industry and the business initiative to make it work. Already very familiar with the Enniskerry area, when they found Toranfield House & Stud Farm right in the heart of Powerscourt, they knew their vision was about to be realised.

This was the perfect location for the health farm, so close to Dublin yet in the heart of one of Ireland’s most spectacular scenic settings, the Wicklow Way. Set on 50 acres of land, overlooked by the Sugar Loaf, with the River Dargle flowing through it and with its own natural Spring, it was the perfect oasis.

Powerscourt Springs Health Farm opened for business in 1996. The original health farm had 11 bedrooms, 8 treatment rooms, restaurant, living room, day room, fitness studio/gym, pool and sauna. Whilst initially it took a little while to launch the concept of a pampering health farm, as opposed to a dietary health farm, once people got a taste for ‘pampering’ Powerscourt Springs became the ‘buzz-word’ in female circles all over Ireland.

Three years later, business was booming and Fiona & Patricia decided to expand the health farm. They converted the old stables into new treatment rooms and bedrooms and also a new day room and tranquillity room. The original house was also entirely refurbished so as to blend the ‘new face’ of Powerscourt Springs, which was re- launched in 2001.

In this time Powerscourt Springs has grown to become Ireland’s largest and best loved health farm, with a reputation that is unsurpassed and a name that is now recognised globally.
